I have tried this and despite exerting considerable force the front edge will not move. I have removed the three screws holding the burner and removed the knob and the clamp screw beneath the hob. It seems to be a weird way of getting the top off as you are very much at risk of damaging the stainless steel trim and/or the glass top if you try to get a tool, however slim between them.
Its ok George, I tried something completely different and have now got the top off. I think the problem is due to this being a new model and it has generic instructions which seem to be for older models , thanks for your help.
