I have a Creda Expressions 500S shower. When I switch it off,

Resolved Question:

I have a Creda Expressions 500S shower. When I switch it off, it shuts down as normal, but then the Med light comes on accompanied by a noise like a boiling kettle. Water dribbles from the shower head and the overheat light eventually comes on.
I have to switch it off via the isolator switch.
What do I need to replace?

Hi , yes the flow switch has failed , so the shower continues to heat when the water has stopped .
You could replace the part, but I would recommend replacement as once that goes other parts follow .

It's only a couple of years old though... It has a phased shutdown employed. It couldn't be the phased shutdown relay? Is the flow switch the same thing?

Expert:  Plumberpro replied 1 year ago.

Hi , yes, was thinking of the previous model .most likely the phased shutdown relay ,cost around £20.

Actually just checked and shower doctor do it for £12.88

Hi , will confirm with creda engineer , but he won't be back till 12 .

Hi spoke to creda guy . he has said. That it will be the Redding microswitch ( pressure ) but it can be very difficult to change as the unit it is in tends to pop part when changing it . this is the part.

For the price of the switch its worth having a go .
