Hello Simon..
Can you tell me if the light comes on when you turn the thermostat?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes, the redlight comes on
Expert:  George-Allsorts replied 1 year ago.
Then the fault is with the element and not the thermostat

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok. AS the cooker is c. 8 years Od I suspect a new element + labour is likely to be £150 ? Probably a new cooker might be best ?
Expert:  George-Allsorts replied 1 year ago.
Noooo... The element is part number C00084399 and can be bought for around £10 - £15. The normal charge for fitting this sort of element is between £40 - £60.

Thanks for that George. I was thinking Indesit prices. I know their call out charge is c. £100, and there is a long wait for them to come too !

You're welcome.. A local engineer can do the repair.
