Resolved Question:

A moment after starting a wash with my old Lavamat 52600, I noticed that there was an item of washing sticking out through at the bottom of the door, breaking the seal. I stopped the cycle immediately, knowing that the floor would be flooded as soon as the drum filled with water. There is no water in the drum (I intervened before the pump action began), but the door remains locked. How can I release it?

Turn the selector to a DRAIN or a SPIN program (10 or 11 o'clock on the dial)
