Hotpoint washing machine WML720P(UK).R ,won't wash it

Hi,Hotpoint washing machine WML720P(UK).R ,won`t wash it will only run on the spin cycle ,when you turn it on no matter what programme you pick it will only spin ,its like it stuck on one cycle , there are no lights flashing. Regards

If you press the pause button it should flash orange.
Then if you turn the dial do the lights change as you turn the dial?
Do you feel it clicking as you turn the dial slowely around?

Hi,when i tried that no lights changed,turning the dial no other lights flash ,when i press start on any position on the dial ,it does the same thing spin only ,its like its stuck on that cycle and it wont do anything else .THANKS

Hi Sounds like the dial has snapped on this so when you are turning the dial the control unit isn't actually turning behind there so that's why its not working correctly. What you need to do is hold the knob with both hands and pull it down and upwards while pulling on it at the same time and it will pop off from there. Look at the shaft of the knob and if its split then that's the fault. What I do is get a small cable tie and wrap it around the shaft on there and tighten it and push it back on.Then try it and im sure that will sort it from there for you. Let me know how it goes.
