I am looking to relocate my fridge freezer socket to make way

Customer Question

I am looking to relocate my fridge freezer socket to make way for a cooker. Looking behind the socket there are 3 cables feeding into it ie 3 wires into each of the L/N/E terminals. When relocating I'm finding it impossible to replicate this arrangement due to space requirements and securing all the wires into the terminals. Is there a junction box I can feed the 3 cables into that will then have one output which I can then attach to the fridge freezer socket ?

OK here are a couple of links to options that would seem to fit the scenario, note these are for illustration, you can get them cheaper at most diy/hardware stores --

or
You join the wires in the existing box with a piece of connector block and have a plain cover with a cable coming out of the front which would also work.

Hi,Would I be able to use the screwfix box to connect the 3 cables then have a single cable from it to connect to the following item :http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/fused-spurs/2227825/ or http://www.screwfix.com/p/mk-13a-dp-switched-fused-connection-unit-with-flex-outlet-white/13479This would enable me to switch it off to defrost and make it more straightforward to replace the fridge freezer at some point in the future

OK this is your problem with both of those ideas, in both cases the three existing cables have to go into the back just like you have with the existing arrangement. If you can't get the existing connectors to work then you will have exactly the same with these.

So I can't use the screwfix item as a 3 cable in / 1cable out junction box

Job done as your advice was spot on, just a few blips with the fittings in the wall box splitting when attached the front part to it but got there in the end. Many thanks.
