Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
OK I assume you have a seperate control sytem connected to the boiler using connectors NS LS & LR connectors on the ST10 connector ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yeah and that's been changed
Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
OK is there a link between LS & LR ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
er whats that
Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
OK if you look at ST10 you have NS LS & LR. Have they linked a piece of wire between LS & LR
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yeah
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
there's a link all that has been checked the three times the boiler repair man has come out it works 4 about 5 mins than goes back to running all the time
Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
OK I'm not sure you understand what I am saying - have you got any external controls connected to ST10 ie timers thermostas, frost stats?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have timer and thermostas have been checked or replaced
Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
you can confirm that there is a link between LS & LR on ST10
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can
Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
OK power off - now remove the link between LS & LR but leave in the wires that go to the controls and the wire in connector NS and tell me if things work now once you have put the power back on?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok done that its working
Expert:  Dales-Electronic replied 1 year ago.
OK you should be OK now but lets just hang on for a couple of mins - but just so you understand, in some situations the owner doesnt want the boiler connected through controls he wants to switch it on and off manually. Modern boilers are designed to use controls but just to give the owner the option they allow the plumber to either set it up to use controls or not as required.. The link between LS & LR leaves the boiler in manual mode - to use it with controls it has to be removed and the controls connected between LS & LR ie they control the boiler not You. The boiler is now controlled by the timer and thermostat rather than just in manual. - Everything working?
