The model number that you have given refers to an American Style fridge freezer - you have listed it as a freezer could you clarify your problem?

Give me about an hour and I will dig out the service manual and we can do some diagnostic tests on the system. I'll come back to you as soon as a find the manual.

The appliance is now 13 years old it may not be worth repairing

Strangely the older the better for Samsung. What will cause us to fail will be the lack of spare parts - speak soon.

If you look at the freezer door display what are the two top buttons on left and right?

There are five lights between buttons .Presently running on three

OK if you switch the appliance off and leave it for about a minute and then switch it back on do you get any messages (two letter) in the display area?

Don't have a display area however did as you suggested but nothing changed

Managed to get the FF out.The motor is running OK and is slightly warm to touch but not exceptional The freezer is working perfect at present but suddenly stops and thaws out
