I have a Miele integral dishwasher. The red light has come

Resolved Question:

I have a Miele integral dishwasher. The red light has come on in the door panel. I have filled the salt container and the rinse aid container , switched it off the on again, but the red light persists.
I think the model number is NR/45208673 and the letters G679-SCVI are also on the door panel.
Please could you advise

Hello Jan, my name is George,

Is the light flashing or just a stable light?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Just stable. George.

Have you run a program since you replenished the salt levels?

How much salt did you replenish the system with, and what type/brand?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
we have run the machie several times since putting in the salt. We used Finnish dishwasher salt and Finnish Rinse Aid
Expert:  George-Allsorts replied 1 year ago.

Ok, thanks for responding so quickly..

The only thing that would cause that scenario is:

  1. Your appliance is low on salt
  2. The reed switch on the side of the water softener is defective
  3. You have a wiring disconnect from the water softener to the pcb
  4. The pcb is defective

You will need to call an engineer out to confirm/repair any of the later three

There is definitely salt in there,George as I can feel it.
Should it have disolved?
Expert:  George-Allsorts replied 1 year ago.

Not completely, you should still be able to feel it..

If the reed switch is faulty, the wires to the reed switch have a disconnect, or the pcb be faulty, then you will receive the condition you are receiving.

Ok thanks, ***** ***** if I will have to call out an engineer.
