I have just had my hotpoint hob replaced under the terms of my kitchen insurance and now have a whirlpool hob. This was two days ago. I cannot get it to work although the power is getting through. It tells me that the saucepans aren't the right sort. I have tried all sizes on the hobs but it still comes up with the message about the pans and switches itself off. HELP!! I've got visitors coming next week.

Can you post the model number of the hob you have?

Also is this an induction hob?

Was your old hob an induction hob?
