Hi, Im sorry to hear that. How old is your washer?

Also does it sound normal when you do run it even though it wont complete the cycle? Also does it drain? can you manually set it to spin drain etc?

Thanks

Tech Michael

it sounds as if it is working normally when i start a programme. it fills the knob does not advance so nothing starts ie the drum does not start to rotate. So I rotate the knob nothing happens till I rotate it to the spin cycle. It then drains the water but does not start to spin so at no point does the knob move or start the motor. I can get it to fill or drain nothing else

Thank you for that information.

You will need a new timer control board for this one.

Its easy to replace if you are just a little handy and have a few basic hand tools. I will help you all the way as well;-)

The best place to get a new timer control board is: http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/

Its best to call to order that part: 0844(###) ###-####a href="http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/" target="_blank">Home » Parts » Kitchen Spares » Dishwashers » Hotpoint

In any case, I will stick with you until this is complete.

Please rate my service kindly.

Also it is the only way I am credited for my time and expertise with you.

Once you rate, I will be notified and will add your question to my priority list so you can reach me anytime until this problem is solved.

Then you can reach me by simply replying to this message anytime.

Thank you and have a great day!

|,m happy to rate the service once I,ve bought and fitted a new timer control board but is the motor equally not likely to be a culprit . It would be an expensive repair if a new control board does not fix it!

I,m rating this when I,ve fitted the part and it works. I have ordered the part from Ransomes it was mot in stock, and I,m ready to fit it when it arrives having removed the old one. In the meantime I,ve tried to test the motor whilst it is off the machine but I cant get a proper set of readings with my circuit tester so I,m worried the motor might have gone duff. You will definitely get a rating when I complete the job

I was going to rate the service but after ordering a new control panel and fitting it the washer is exactly the same ie dial rotates the stops at certain points motor never runs all I can get the machine to do is empty or fill by turning the dial. So now I,m really stuck
