I have a burning stove which often throws smoke back into

Customer Question

I have a wood burning stove which often throws smoke back into the room. Also sometimes there is an acrid synthetic plastic/paint smell in the room which can result in a headache.
I think that there may be a problem with the draw on the chimney as it is in a courtyard and the stack is below the roofline.
Would it be better to get a spinning cowl (wind activated) or go the whole hog and get a chimney fan?

The terminal should be higher than the guttering.

Can you upload a picture of the terminal position?
