Sorry for delay. Haven't been able to get to a computer since I asked my question. Thanks for getting back to me. The bizarre thing is that my self-cleaning function worked for the first time in over a year just after I emailed you. V odd. The appliance is probably about 6 years old. When it wasn't working I'd rotate the dial to self-clean it didn't offer me the 1/2/3 intensity options and nothing happened. But it worked perfectly well on Sunday. Mystified.Cheers

Hey, thats ok.

This could be just dirty contacts in the switch, sound like it to me.

See how it goes for a while and please get back to me if the problem presents itself again;-)

Also sometimes the main board in this oven can glitch and cause this problem but it usually fixes itself.
