Could someone advice please, i had my thermostat changed a month ago and know i have the engine management light on again, i have a friend who has a decoder and the codes and reasons are as follows, 17939 cam shaft adjustment open circuit P1531 no signal/ no communication. 17700 map controlled engine cooling thermostat (f265) open circuit p1292 no signal no communication. The question i have is, are the two errors linked as the temperature in the car is fine and the engine temp. the car is running fine but just have the EMS light on.

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
Possible Causes

  • Fuse(s) faulty
  • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265) faulty
  • Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265) faulty
Possible Solutions

  • Check Fuse(s)
  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265)
  • Check/Replace Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265)

The next code P1531: is the Camshaft Timing Adjustment: Open Circuit

 

Wiring open circuit, CMP actuator

 

THe two codes should be checked first then clear the codes and test ,
