I am looking to buy a Audi A4 Automatic is this a good buy

Resolved Question:

I am looking to buy a Audi A4 Automatic is this a good buy as i have read that the most common problem with this is the Multitronic Transmission, how common is this problem or should i buy a Audi A4 Manual?

Hello

the 6 speed multitronic gearboxes fitted between 1999 and 2004 are a poor unit and you would be lucky to find a unit over 80Kmiles that isn't suffering from shift and hard gear selection issues - they are expensive to repair and often its more economic to scrap the car or source a used transmisson

I'd stay well away from these and if you want an audi from that era either the manual or the DSG box is a much better bet
