I have a website that is being built by a web

Customer Question

Hi. I have a website that is being built by a web development company. After two and a half years it is not complete. The web developers want to quit without offering a refund. I can possibly complete the project by giving away some equity in the business. At a later date can I peruse them for the value of the equity that I have to lose in order to complete the website. Do I need to flag this up to them as a possible cosiquence of them fulfilling their obligation. Or must they have been able to reasonably foresee this as a risk to themselves, at the point in time when we made the contract nearly two and a half years ago. Many thanks. Kind regards***** *****

Hello Richard, my name is ***** ***** I am a solicitor and I am happy to help you today. What is the reason for the failure to complete and why would you want to use equity rather than claim against them in breach of contract?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Hi JennyThey have failed to complete because they feel they don't want to spend any more money or time on the project. They agreed to build the site for £14,000. They have spent over this amount I have spent another £5000 on servers under their advise which were not needed and another £7000 on other costs. I want to spend my time getting the business going, not spend it in court. Small claims could get me 5 to 10 k back perhaps, I have no funds to do anything other than small claimsI and they know that. I want to stimulate them into completing the project. I am hoping that if I explain that if the website is a success, that their liability to me could be more than the cost to them now of finishing the site, that they may agree to finish it
