Hopefully i can help..
Only small box i can recall on these in that area is the Air Intake Resonator box generally part of intake induction system - air will go through that box first before entering the main airfilter box - mostly used to reduce induction/intake noise.it can in some sense also act if you will a defense to keep water from entering the engine..but mostly to reduce noise than anything else.I do hope this helps..If you need to ask anything else or include anything further then just continue before you rate
Could not refit
After fitting new front panel pipe blanked to stop water ingress would it be ok or should I fit perfomance filter
Just to clarify - what was the reason for removing the box i asume this has been an front impact damage issue/problem your trying to rectify?
Front impact no damage to aircon rad or cooling rad and fan no damage to subframe no way wouldreso atornator fit past front subfame prefitting to front paneldid notwork retro fit same
Ok..There should be only hose/pipe going to that resonator that come off the main fresh air intake pipe before it fits to bottom of the main airfilter housing..might be posible to black that pipe off to the resonator itself thus elimanting it all together - unless you can put an after marcket induction kit on it instead
