I have a e66 730d and I have AC problems Firstly I thought

Resolved Question:

I have a e66 730d and I have AC problems
Firstly I thought the Freon was low but I have had it topped up, this did not fix the problem so I had it plugged in to get a diagnosis and it brought back an error code which meant there was a problem with the Fogging Sensor located behind the rear view mirror, upon inspection the sensor had been broken by a previous service and not reported, so I installed a new sensor had it plugged back in to the diagnostic machine had the error cleared but upon trying the AC again a new error came up which is 9c63 which means there is now a fault being reported saying the pressure swith / sensor is faulty
So my question is would it be possible to test the pressure switch and force it to work or does it seem like another error

I will provide an honest answer. I trust this will be appreciated. Please remember that a low rating PUNISHES me for being honest and that I receive nothing for my time until a positive rating is clicked.

you have asked: "would it be possible to test the pressure switch and force it to work or does it seem like another error"

the answer to your question is no, there is no way to test the pressure sensor without a factory BMW scan tool, there is no way to force it to work, and yes it seems like another error.

Please let me know if you have further questions. Please do not forget to click a positive rating as this is the only way I receive credit for my answer, thank you. Best wishes with your vehicle.

One other thing is that the guy who put the machine on was able to manually operate the AC by putting the compressor into Run In Mode which then makes everything work fine, so would it be that it just needs a new pressure switch and would the Freon have to be removed before a new one could be installed? Is there any other way of resetting the whole system as it seems strange that this error only came after fixing the Fogging Sensor Error

Please do not forget to CLICK ON a positive rating.
You can reset the system by unhooking the vehicle battery for an hour
