I have a 52 plate diesel landrover freelander and glow plug tip has broken of in the cylinder head any suggestions on removal other than taking head off?

Hi sorry to hear this has happened but not much more you can do on a diesel engine when this happens ,petrol just remove the plug and pick it out with a suction tube ..

On the diesel engine there is no opening big enough for you to get at it safely.

You will have to lift the head sorry mate no other way ..

As you can see from the photo below no way in.



Crank over this engine just once and you will have a big expensive repair bill.
