First, i would check the wiring harness getting to the trunk, it should be covered by a rubber sleeve, which if moved you would be able to see the wires, check for any broken wires first.

My apologies for the delay....

I would next remove the trim in the trunk, and check if the parts are getting power supply, check the wiring and connectors under the trim, and if you are not getting power, we will get to check the SAM.

There is no power connections and wire ok. The reg plate lights and 3 rd brake light not working and electric trunk look not working with the key or door switch. Are all these connected??

Hello,

They have the wiring harness in common.

This is a very common issue on your model. The tube covering the harness would have broken wires inside. MB issues a technical service bulletin, which i will include, as it contains the details, so you proceed and check accordingly. This is most likely the fix for your problem. However, get back to me with your findings, or if further assistance is needed.
