Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 2004 petrol, grinding noise from rear of vehicle when changing gear from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and sometimes on accelaration otherwise drives nicely, no problems changing gear or with clutch, any ideas????

Hi,my name is mike and I will assist you with your question.
The issue that you are describing is consistent with the pinion bearing in the rear differential that is starting to fail. The pinion has a outer and inner bearing and from your symptoms the inner is failing. The rear differential does not have to be removed to make this repair but the rear axles do.
