Mark :

Good evening.

Mark :

The small belt is not for a balance shaft. It is for the exhaust camshaft.

Mark :

You will have bent the exhaust valves in the cylinder head.

Mark :

There is also the chance you may have damaged the inlet valves.

Mark :

This could cost £500 upwards to repair.

JACUSTOMER-rphyrjez- :

So would I b best to get the values fixed first before putting on the belts? Or if the belts are put on would my car start?? ? Thank

Mark :

The engine wont start if you put the belt on. You need to remove the cylinder head and then have all the damaged valves replaced first.
