Customer Question

Hi I have twin KAMD44P volvo penta engines and one of which is not coming up to WOT,
There is a strong outflow of steam from the crankcase breather pipe of the underperforming engine when it warms up!
What can account for this.
both engines have about 550 hours up,
Regards,
Aidan

Hello

If theres a lot of steam coming out of the breather then I'm afraid a cracked block or head is quite likely

If its using coolant then this another pointer towards this

as somwething try which can sometimes provide a permanent fix then a bottle of this may help
