I assume you had the new sensor fitted because the gauge was reading low or empty.
If that was the case then maybe it is the gauge that is faulty and not the sensor.
If you are sure the gauge is good then either the wiring is faulty, the new sender is faulty or it hasn't been fitted correctly.
The solution has to be one of these suggestions.
