Mark :

Hello, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will try help you with this.

Mark :

Do you have the five digit security code from the vehicle's security card.

Customer: No. I bought the car second hand and was informed that uk cars don't come with the key cards
Mark :

You were wrongly informed.

Mark :

All you can do now is either get a locksmith with suitable coding equipment or use a main dealer.

Mark :

If you had the code you could have bypassed it.

Mark :

Alfa

Customer: It states in the owners Manuel that 'at the behest of uk insurers the code key cardis not provided to vehicle owners!
Mark :

In that case you have to contact a locksmith or main dealer.

Customer: i've read on an Alpha forum that to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes with the key removed will reset the ecu and immobiliser. Have not tried as yet. Any thoughts?
Mark :

It probably wont work but what have you got to lose.

Mark :

It doesn't usually work.

Customer: Your right. I shall give it a go.
Mark :

Do you have a spare key you could try?

Customer: Yes, I've tried both. And put new power cells in each. Same warning both times
Mark :

Try disconnecting the battery, you might get lucky. If not then it has to be locksmith or dealer with coding equipment.

Customer: Okay, thanks Mark
Mark :

No problem.

Mark :

Hope it goes well for you.
