The boot lid on my X-Type Jaguar is stuck. How can I get it

Resolved Question:

The boot lid on my X-Type Jaguar is stuck. How can I get it open? Using the key fob doesn't work. I've tried banging on the centre of the number plate but that didn't work either!

Hi,
I have not yet been able to get the boot lid open. This could be a major problem should I get a puncture as the wheel locknut, spare wheel and jack are all located in the boot!
I still require assistance with this problem.

Hi .

Sorry you had to wait all this time but reason is a lot of experts do not know the answer to this issue, or do not want to let you know because this is bad news if this happens .

What you sadly have to do is break out the left rear light cluster
to gain access to the release hatch as the rear seat are probably lock closed from the inside of the boot ,but check and see if one is open??.

I know this sound mad but its the only way rear light cluster or rear seat damage .

Sorry to pass on the bad news ,BUT if you are lucky and you have a switch problem and not the locking actuator a dealer scan tool or a good top level scan tool can open the boot, that is if the lock is not the problem or a wiring issue like it normally is .

Kind regards Greg.
