Resolved Question:

Can a car that has been category B,C or D damaged be fix and have its HPI Check record Cleared once a full repair has been carried out by a fully qualified mechanic? if so is there a cost to do this?

Thanks, Jamie

Hello

in theory yes

however to clear the records the car needs to go through an SVA ( single vehicle assement) test

this is the same test that every home built / kit car has to do and is like a very detailed MOT test and typically takes about 2 hours to complete and cost a few hundred pounds

plus the car has to be trailered to the test centre and back as its not road legal wihout the test paperwork being complete and processed

once this is done you get the v5 back and can apply for raod tax in the normal way
