SLK 200 R170 My wife was stuck in traffic last night for about

Resolved Question:

SLK 200 R170 My wife was stuck in traffic last night for about two hours. The clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there. Another driver helped her I think he pulled the peddle back up by hand. What is likely to be wrong. It drives fine this morning and all the fluid levels are good.

Hopefully i can help..

These cars use a hydraulic clutch operating you have master cylinder at the clutch pedal and clutch slave at the gearbox..normally when a clutch pedal sticks to floor then one of either of these cylinders are at fault the problem either of the cylinders is bleeding down and not holding the pressure like it should be resulting in the issue..the next step really is inspection of both cylinders on the it the possibiliy of renewing them - you could also of course have the system rebled incase there is issue with air maybe getting into the system or the fluid present "which is brake fluid" is in need of renewal..which a full rebleed will be able to do

..but as above usually its one of the either that causes this normally the master cylinder is the most common..I do hope this helps..If you need to ask anything else or include anything further then please continue before you rate
