Hi..

Hopefully i can help..

Depends on the nature of the fault - if it inst responding to the key fob when pressed then normally the key batteries within would be the best place to start, sometimes even if the key is worn..the buttons can have an effect on operating the central locking where you would be best acquiring a another fob/case with the new buttons and transfer everything from the old key over to the new fob case inc the transponder chip to start the car.even use a second working key fob to see if its a fault with both keys and not the car itself - if the keys are known to be working ok and transmit a good signal to the car reciver then the you need to have the door/boot/fuel cap locks checked to ensure they are responding- any one these sticking or not operating can effect the central locking from operating correctly..its hard to say on expense without proper investigative worked carried out before hand..but i would imagine any good equiped garage should be able to diagnose whats at fault..but if you havent done so already .try the key fob batteries first and have the motorfactors test the key are outputting a proper signal..most factors do have testers to see if the key works or not..I do hope this helps
