My landrover freelander will not start. Message on display

My landrover freelander will not start. Message on display said HOC system has failed.
Am charging battery but what is the HOC system

It may well have been the HDC system -the display was on only for a very short period.

But on my vehicle is there an HDC and an HOC system

Hello again.
This will be the Hill Descent Control (HDC) system warning that will have flashed up and not HOC. If the battery is low the system will detect the low voltage and this will be reported as a fault which is when you see the warning.
On Land Rover models I'm not aware of any system referred to as HOC.
