Hi..there

As and when the "restricted performance" warning comes on - means the cars ecu has detected a fault with one of the engine sensor/wiring or ecu controlled component on the engine,sometimes this can put the car in limp home mode depending on the nature of the fault the ecu is seeing..ideally the next stage is to get the car scanned for fault codes which there should be seeing the engine light is on/restricted performance has cropped up - once you know what these faults then can you take steps to make checks or investigate further based on the result before replacing anything,normally the most common area is the emissions system/either bad lambda/02 sensor,but once you know the fault codes then you'll have better idea what needs rectifed here..I do hope this helps
