Hi..there..

Does the vehicle have power steering on it already?

What sort of problem do you have with the steering at the moment?

iWAS WONDERING IF A MORE MODERN SYSTEM COULD BE IN CORPORATED OR IF THE STEERING COULD BE TRANSFERRED FROM AN UP TO DATE VEHICLE?

Hi..there..

On the Vectra B there isnt really alot you can do to make the steering more lighter - in a sense yes more air in the tyres can help a small bit ..but then you increase tyre wear across the centre of the tyre tread and not even wear across the tread..plus more road noise..normally the steering can be fairly light on the Vec B as ive had a fair few of them and work on them alot - If it not and your having a hard time getting the steering to turn - the best things to check for is possible seizure in regards ***** ***** top mounts on the suspension struts / seized lower balljoints / seized track rod end ball joints..aswell as ensuring the power steering fluid is topped up / the power steering pump is working properly and not grinding or causing noise / the belt in which the pumps runs off is tight and not loose so a few things need to be check and normally are the areas of inspection when it comes to heavy steering and of course checking for fluid leaks around the steering rack which is common area..

You may want to get the fluid changed out if its the same fluid in there from new..new fluid in there may help bring the steering back or make it a little more responsive.certainly worth a try and doesnt take long to carry out..any reputable garage should be able to that....But as far as making the steering alot lighter on these cars its very limited/to impossible especially trying to retro fit a differant steering system electronic and such like the Vectra B right up till 2001-2002 had the same steering system hydraulic until the Vectra C came in with it electrohydraulic system which is totally different system being a different build chassis I couldn't see it fit or have the capabilities of getting to work in the first place on your......but as above the key areas i pointed out and the fluid change maybe something to have done id say and see whats found..
