Hi my name is Ross, I am a diagnostic technician and look forward to working with you.
Low oil pressure is generally caused by a heavily worn engine or failing pump, It is rare to suffer with low oil pressure for no apparent reason but unfortunately it does happen sometimes. Usually caused by worn bottom end bearings, oil pump failure or a blockage, the low oil pressure will usually cause engine damage very quickly due to starvation. Because of this risk and non starting the engine should have a compression test carried out across all 5 cylinders to see if internal damage is preventing starting. If the engine has good compression, the chances are that this is an electrical issue rather than a mechanical engine problem which will require a diagnostic scan.
Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions, if your happy with my answer please don't forget to provide a rating, thanks, Ross.
