We have an elderly MX5 (1994) and it has started to leak through

Resolved Question:

We have an elderly MX5 (1994) and it has started to leak through the seals on the roof so the seats are getting soaked. How much is this likely to cost to get fixed and where is the best place to get it done? We are west of scotland based and was just hoping there might be someone nearby who specialises in old mazdas!

Hello you can often rejuvanate old rubber seals by rubbing vaseline into them as this softens the rubber and produces a better sealso I'd try that nextotherwise you can either buy all new seals from a specialist like http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/hood-side-seal-motorsport-mk1-p-3402.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=googleshopping&utm_campaign=googlebase&gclid=CJGZ9-OM_8gCFQSVGwodQy8Oaw and to get all the supplementary seals will end up close to £200 in parts plus then its about a days labour to fit all new often a more cost effective fix is to find a good used hood and fit that completeas for a specialist how about this firm:http://www.bordermx5s.com/
