Hello if you have a check engine light on then there should be a supporting fault code, can you tell me what this is?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is no code, just yellow light comes on and screen says fuel injection system failure and the engine shuts down, it will start up again after 3 or 4 minutes but can cut out again with no warning but the sing and light coming on, then it stops

hello the screen won't publish the fault code, you have to plug in a diagnostic device to the OBD port to pull the code off ?

Hi Matt,
I have just got the code from the mechanic and it say's P1260 Delivery Fuel Pressure Monitoring.
Expert:  Matt replied 1 year ago.
Hello Andy thanks for that informationthat code means the lift pump in the tank isn't keeping up with the main pump demandIf the connections to this pump are corroded or damaged then the pump could stop at any time or could not be running at full speed. Check that its relay switches in and out and the relay contacts are clean and bright – replace the relay if in any doubt and do the same for the fuse,Ideally measure the pressure at the inlet to the main engine fuel pump and if this is low check the pump wirings as described if this is all OK its possible that there's an issue with the fuel pressure sensor on the rail

Hi Matt,
Thanks for that information i will get these thing checked out tomorrow and see if this is the problem i may even get the mechanic to call you if that's ok i know i pay more but it would be worth it as i haven't been able to drive the car for 3 weeks now. Good job i have a very reliable 46 year old Volvo to get me to work etc doing 350 miles per week.
