Hi..there..
There are few things that may cause that..but normally id be checking for leaks around the injectors..that can cause a similiar issue with starting on the engines..so any diesel leaks then its likely one of the return spill lines is leaking and can be easily replaced..another is the ECT sensor but the most common ive found is the Cam sensor dropping out..tends to go open circuit in itself until it cools and the circuit is reinstated then the car fires up..only way to know or to help diagnose that is to run the car on a live data test diagnostically at cold and then when the fault occurs hot..then when the fault occurs then retest and see using that data what sensor is dropped out or lost sync..might help confirm either way..but going by that id say it could well likely be cam sensor fault maybe.cam sensor is next to the most left diesel no1 injector or nearest timing cover.you'll note 3 wire plug ging to it..held with one single star/torx bolt.I do hope this helps
