How do you turn off the motion sensor in the car if you are travelling on a ferry. I have. 2016 Mazda 2sport. 1.5 engine.

you can disable the sensor with the button is on the key fob near the base with 'off' written on it. When you leave the car and lock it in the normal way you have to press the 'disable' button within 20 seconds and the indicators should flash 3 times and the motion sensor is then disabled

This is a keyless entry car so does not have a button with off on it.

OK thanks for the extra information

In that case sorry to say that I don't think that you have an option to disable the motion sensor without dealer software intervention - obviously this isn't much help if you're already on the Ferry

however what usually works on a lot of other cars is to remove the emergency mechanical key from the fob ( there's a button to push and so withdraw the key blade) and lock the car with this key

this should lock the car but not set the alarm

however I should say that I've not tried this on your car
