this all depends on how long you intend to keep the car and how many miles are on it now

semi synthetics to be honest aren't worth the extra cost over mineral oil

either use cheap mineral oil or full synthetic as the semi synth offers very few advantages over the cheap mineral oil

if you intend to keep the car a long time and it has plenty of milage left on it then full synthetic oil every time as its reduces engine wear to a minimum as doesn't need replacing as often as the cheaper stuff so it does actually pay for itself

if however the car is at the end of its life and you will be replacing it within a year or so then put the cheaper oil in

the garage who serviced the vehicle have already put semi syntheticoil in.does this mean that e.g.i should change it in say 6 months rather than 12?
