Hi, I was diagnosed with AF following a routine checkup.

Resolved Question:

I was diagnosed with AF following a routine checkup. I began taking Warfarin and beta blockers for my fast AF, I had a cardioversion but it returned after 7 months. I had another Cardioversion 5 months ago and so far so good.
I remain on Warfarin and Beta Blockers (10mg per day) and my resting heart beat is about 60
I was a keen cyclist quite often cycling to the limit but my cardiologist and said I shouldn't do any exercise with my condition.
I'm now in limbo, very keen to start exercise again and particularly the cycling but am worried that the AF will return.
any suggestions?

Hello. I'm Dr. Phil, licensed and practicing internist. Excellent service is my goal.

Without knowing your case fully I have to disagree.

Exercise is generally encouraged but not at an extreme level

Moderate regular exercise should be helpful

Perhaps your GP can give you a second opinion

so I guess I'm worried about the link between AF and exercise and what the risk is between the two. Does exercise make a return more likely or is it unconnected in your opinion
