Tested to establish structural integrity of heart. I am in AF (despite medication) and left ventricle severely damaged. They now want to look at rear of heart. I asked why and also requested likely prognosis, given that I have been made aware this condition is severe not moderate. They have already had a look at heart from front. I also asked which further tests were likely so I can mentally prepare. Advised:- sorry not permitted to disclose.
There are two methods of approach in the severe heart failure,
1.. we try to rule out underlying coronary artery disease and do CTA or coronary angiogram which helps to see any blocked arteries, if we open these arteries heart failure can improve.
2.. Second line of treatment it that if we know that there are non treatable or normal unblocked coronary arteries and still person has severe heart failure then we want to check the heart for dysynchrony, we can do this with advanced modality of echocardiogram using speckled and strain imaging and also with MRI. After this we can plan for CRT therapy which is very useful to improve heart failure.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more details or have some more specific questions you want help with. Thank you.
That's good to know but you evaded the real concern, which is refusal to disclose information. Why would a failure to disclose be appropriate? I would understand if the person had told me "I don't know" but this was not the case.
