The maker of my wife's pacemaker advises keeping 2 ft away

Resolved Question:

The maker of my wife's pacemaker advises keeping 2 ft away from an induction hob, which will be difficult when e.g. stir-frying. Is any form of protective clothing or device made that would minimize the risk of EMI interference or even eliminate it? Induction hobs are so popular these days that one would have thought that the design of these hobs could have improved to minimize risk to pacemaker users. Are some makers better than others at tackling this problem, or is it generic?
Before we invest in a new hob we would be very grateful for your views as getting through to the cardiologist is not a simple matter and most GPs will only say something on the lines of "go ahead with whatever the hob manufacturer says and whatever the pacemaker maker says!

Dr. Natasha :

Dr. Natasha :

did you see that

Customer:

Perhaps that will have to wait until the next annual check-up, as we wouldn't know how to switch ourselves!

Dr. Natasha :

NO, I would call her cardiologist and ask them to switch it

Dr. Natasha :

You don't need to wait!

Dr. Natasha :

she needs to cook! :-)

Dr. Natasha :

otherwise you can't eat, eh?

Customer:

I will make a note of that website, if I can find a pen. Hold on please I am of the older generation.

Dr. Natasha :

no worries

Dr. Natasha :

Keep me posted.

Dr. Natasha :

I will check on you in 2 weeks to see how your appointment went

Dr. Natasha :

did I provide you with excellent service?

Customer:

That is a problem; getting in touch with the cardiologist as this is probably thought to be a non-urgent problem, medically speaking.

Customer:

Yes : excellent service thank you

Dr. Natasha :

great
