Doctor H :

Hi, this is Doctor H and I would be happy to assist you

Doctor H :

Okay, do you know if the cat is the actual property of the owners you spoke to?

Customer:

Think so by talking to neighbours

Customer:

but not sure

Doctor H :

Well have you spoken with the suspected owners?

Customer:

no

Doctor H :

Is silky spayed or intact?

Customer:

she is spayed

Doctor H :

Phew! That's good to hear.

Customer:

the tom cat seems to left home, and living rough

Doctor H :

Well, I would talk to the suspected owners about keeping him inside and getting him neutered. Otherwise I'm sure there's an animal control authority you could speak to.

Doctor H :

Well you could trap him yourself and take him to any local rescue/shelter, but they are typically full.

Doctor H :

Call beforehand and see if they would take adoptions.

Customer:

the owners have not seen the tom cat for about 2 months

Doctor H :

He should be tested for FeLV/FIV as well to determine if he has either disease. If so that could be spread to other cats.

Doctor H :

I'm sorry - I thought you said you hadn't spoken to the owners.

Customer:

friends of the owners have told me this, it really is sad when people dont get cats neuterd

Doctor H :

Yeah. Well like I said, i would speak to the owners directly - it's always best to get knowledge first-hand.

Doctor H :

Then consider the next step - trap yourself and bring to a shelter/rescue or contact your local animal control authority.

Doctor H :

Is Silky up to date on a feline leukemia vaccine? Does she get tested annually?

Customer:

Thankyou so much for your advice.

Doctor H :

You're welcome, I wish I could help more. Just make sure she's vaccinated against FeLeuk and is tested annually.

Doctor H :

Do you have any more questions? If so, I'm happy to answer them.

If not, kindly rate my service so I may receive credit for our discussion.
