Wes :

Looks like you may have to do a hard reset.

Wes :

You can do that by turning the phone off , press and hold the power button until it turns off. Or pull the battery again.

Wes :

1. Turn the power off. Remove and replace battery.
2. Press and Hold the Home and Power button.
3. When the start up screen show, release all the buttons.
4. Use the Volume Up/Down button to navigate to "wipe data/factory reset"
5. Select "wipe data/factory reset"
6. Select "Yes -- delete all user data"
* Allow several minutes for the factory data reset process to complete.
7. Select "reboot system now"
* Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.

Wes :

WARNING, this will wipe everything on the phone.

Wes :

Let me know if you need more assistance with this and I will reconnect with you

Customer:

has not helped wes, the phone keeps returning to start up mode as it does not appear to be able to get the final

Wes :

were you able to tell if it started the factory data reset?

Customer:

Has not helped Wes. the phone cannot get passed the start up screen, but does not actually start up, gets to almost the end and then re-starts, Also there is no sound or vibration which you normally get on start up. Please Advise

Wes :

Were you able to tell if the factory reset process started?

Wes :

If you don't hold the buttons right it'll do the normal startup again and no, it won't change anything

Wes :

let me see if I can find a YouTube video showing the process, I have to make sure you're doing this part right

Wes :

starting with the phone off, hold the volume up, home key and the power button

Wes :

This should help you see what to expect.

Customer:

Wes got to factory reset, phone wiped i think, still will not turn on, no sound or vibration either

Wes :

Still does the same thing (boot loops?)

Customer:

yes, exactly that

Wes :

hmmm... how much time do you want to put into this? The reason I ask is because it sounds like the bootloader may be corrupted. To fix that will require flashing the phone with a new ROM.

Wes :

There's a utility called Odin that should be able to unbrick it

Wes :

It's kind of involved

Wes :

If you want to look over the information, it's here:

Customer:

How do i go about getting that Odin, phone not expensive, do you think it is worth it

Wes :

Well it won't cost you anything to try it.

Wes :

Look at the link above... you'll want to scroll down to where it says "3. How to Unbrick Ace 5830i / How to use Odin"

There's also a youtube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d7AS3Is4bk

Customer:

Never thought i could kill a phone just by playing a slots game, kind of annoyed as this is the second time it has happened, killed the first one only about 10 days ago, exactly same thing,

Wes :

Really?

Wes :

That app must be pretty badly written if it's corrupting phones like that. I'd consider reporting it on the android market.

Wes :

Is there anything else I can help you with in regard to this question?

Customer:

No, Cheers XXXXX XXXXX a go, shame it cost me £11 and phone still broke though
