Hi John. Welcome to justanswer.
Is your van`s stereo system being displayed under bluetooth list of available devices or saved devices in your Nokia phone?
I am asking something else John. Go to the Bluetooth option in your phone, delete all the paired or saved devices. Then search for available devices in your phone. Check if your car's system is shown or not. If yes, then select it and you will get a pairing key on your car's system.
You are trying to pair from the car`s system, have you tried pairing from the phone instead?
Your phone is Nokia 225 right?
Sorry to inform you John But on Nokia 225 device the bluetooth version is 3.0, which supports below profiles:
Following profiles are not supported in Nokia 225 device:

That is to say, Nokia 225 supports only file transfer, but it does not support bluetooth audio (bluetooth headset or bluetooth carkit).
The phone`s original name is ***** ***** the sub model number is *****
