Please double click that icon to open a window like the sample image below, there you will see "Manage Scan to Computer", click that option and enable it.

Message - Cannot connect to printer, please ensure that printer is powered and connected to the computer.
Checked that it is powered and connected by USB and it is printing ok
At present , is it connected by USB?

, did you got any error message
Open windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and open Services. Check that the following services ( check them in th order shown below ) are all showing as Status= Started and Start-up Type= Automatic
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Shell Hardware Detection
Windows Image Acquisition
If you need to make a change to any of the above, just right click the service and select Properties, then in the dropdown box next to 'Start-up type', select Automatic and click Apply to save the change. Then click the Start button.
Device manager asked me to reinstall the drivers which I did having downloaded from HP but no difference.
