Hi John,

Can you go to printers.

Right click on the Lexmark and select Remove.

Once done, disconnect the Lexmark from the computer and restart the computer.

Then connect the Lexmark to the computer and install it again like you did when you first received it.

Then try to print and Let me know the results please

ok, then it is possible the cable is the issue.

Can you test with a different cable to the printer please John?

The cable works on another computer and connect without a problem with existing cable. I dont have a spare cable with me at present as I am on vacation

ok, go to Start, Control Panel.

go to User Accounts and create a new user account.

Once created, restart the computer.

You will then see to users to log in as.

Select the new one, then once windows has loaded, try to print.

ok, restart and log in with your normal account.

Than do the following please

Download CC Cleaner (free) from here

CC Cleaner

(Click Download Latest Version on the top right)

Run it and let it scan and repair your registry.

Once done, restart the computer

Than

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator.

A black window will open.

Type in it

sfc /scannow

press enter and when it has completed, type in

chkdsk /f

Press enter.

It will complain the Volume is in use and to run on restart. Say YES and restart the computer

Than try to print and Let me know the results please

Click Start, type in SYSTEM RESTORE and press enter

Follow the steps to perform a system restore, choosing a restore date when the printer last worked.

Once completed, try to print and let me know the results please

We are going to need to do a reinstall of windows.

there is system level corruption, and it cannot be repaired.

Can you backup any data you wish to keep, off the computer, and then tell me the make and model of the computer please.

Thanks John,

Once you have backed up the data, off the computer (as this procedure will remove all the data).

Then turn off the computer. Hold down ALT and turn on the computer and with ALT held down, keep tapping F10 until you get to the recovery manager.

Follow the steps here to perform a Factory Reset, which will perform the re-installation of windows.

Once done, windows is then reinstalled. Then install the printer and you will then be able to print.

And the printer, which does work on other computers, does not work here still.

You will need to print via the working computer, but it will always need to be on. Is this other computer also connected to the internet.
