Dear Hardware Tech Support
The above machine from around 2010 is new and a horizontal desktop. I should like to enquire if it is possible for it to be safely upgraded to 8GB RAM with it being the inbuilt RAM of the machine.
Also please let me know the maximum power processor that can be 100% technically safely installed.
I would also be grateful if you could let me know what you consider to be the best types of wifi and whether these can also be installed.
Best regards

Thank you for your question, my name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you.
Please note, click on Reply to Expert to reply to me, a rating is only needed when we are finished.
yes, the Ram can be upgraded and it supports up to 16GB of Ram.
Maximum Processor is a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 Processor 3.0-GHz, 12M L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB with vPro Technology (SFF) (CMT)
(I have put right at the bottom all processors that can work with this computer)
For Wifi, a USB dongle is best and you can use this one.

Thank you for your reply. I would be grateful if it can also be sent to my email address:***@******.***. I will take the info to my local computer shop which is Tecnikk Computers of Macclesfield. I will need to decide on what type of upgrades to make and discuss it with them and yourself making sure that is all within guarantee.

I am not a technical person and so from my knowledge I am making a good rating.

Dear *****

The maximum pocessor for the machine in question as you advised is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 Processor 3.0-GHz, 12M L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB with vPro Technology (SFF) (CMT).

My local computer store attempted to obtain it but found that it is no longer manufactured and only second hand ones are available. The HP Compaq 8000 will only last as loing as the processor does and so it would not be a good idea to replace a new processor with a second hand one.

I appreciate the quality of the advice but I am not in a financial position to be able to afford it and so reluctantly have to cancel my membership.

Best regards

George Schenk
