As discussed, contact your Satellite provider and have them open oprt 82 for inbound.

Let me know the results tomorrow please.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
I spoke with isp. I asked them to open ports 8000, 8080 & 82, They said that I needed a static ip, I said I didn't as I am running an updater. Then they gave me an IP address to set the router to, which I did, I checked the above ports accsessability and they all were refused. I checked port 80 Nd found it to be open. I changed my cam to port 80 but it didn't work. Maybe you will see why. I will contact you on Monday evening (uk time).
If you prefer I can contact sat afternoon, but I guess you'd prefer not.
Regards Doug

Hi Doug,

I am on today. Tell me the Static IP please and I can see if it is really open.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

192.168.5.200

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Thats the internal one Doug, can you tell me the Static IP the provider set for you please.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

i am aware that this is internal but thats what they said to set the router to

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok.... then can you give me your Public IP please, as I cannot connect via the private (no one can).

You can check it at www.whatsmyip.org

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

185.6.154.22

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
It is still blocked Doug.

A private static IP has nothing to do with this as it works internally, and your forwarding rules are correct.

I have checked the data stream and ports 8000, 80 and 8080 are being blocked by the provider.

Can you ask them to unblock these please.

Static IP is not related, they need to open the ports on the Satellite modem and forward these to your router.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

This is what my isp said "Hi Doug,

I can't text you as its my personal number, hope you understand.

At your business, set the router's IP address to 192.168.5.200 and it should work.
For your other connection, you will need a static IP (you already have one for your business) before we can open the ports. Would you like us to set this up for you? It would be an extra £5 on your monthly bill and takes up to 48 hours to do.

Kind Regards,

Danny Murphy

I have just checked port 80 using "can you see me.org" and it says "Success: I can see your service on185.6.154.22 on port (80)
Your ISP is not blocking port 80"

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
What is the IP of your DVR now?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

192.162.1.12:80

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.

ok, on your computer, click Start, type in CMD and press enter

Type in IPCONFIG

Press enter and tell me the IP Address please

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

IPv4 Address..........192.168.1.4

Subnet Mask.............255.255.255.0

Default Gateway.......192.168.1.1

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Thanks,

Then it is being blocked. There is no other reason. What we did not find out was what the make and model of the Satellites router is. As there needs to be portforwarding there as well, else it just sits at there router.

Can you have them check that the ports are being forwarded through on their router Doug?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes i will of course but they wont answer today

Thanks

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
No problem Doug, but their router is the issue, your setup is 100% correct.

Make sure it works when your on the phone with them. Explain that you need the port (which ever you have the DVR set to and the portforwarding done on your router) is being forwarded.

It will then just work as everything on your side is correct.
