I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue.
If you have a Windows computer that is currently connected to the Internet through the wireless router
the password XXXXX XXXXX that computer.
Please follow these steps:
  • Click the wireless strength indicator on the Windows taskbar (bottom right corner).
  • Right-click your wireless network name, and then select Properties.
  • Click on the security heading, Select Show characters to display the wireless network password.
If you are not able to find or view the password XXXXX let me know the brand and model of your router/modem,

the router is a Dlink wireless ADSL 2640R.


 


The computer taskbar doesn't have a wireless strength indicator.

•Okay, then your computer should be Connected to the router with an Ethernet cable.
• Open a web browser and enter the address http://192.168.1.1
• The default username is ‘admin’. The default password XXXXX XXXXX ‘admin’.
If you have changed the log in admin password XXXXX can not remember it, you will need to reset the router to the factory default setting which will set the password XXXXX to ‘admin’.
Ensure the router is powered on.
Press and hold the reset button on the back of the device for approximately 6-8 seconds.
The process would take about 30 seconds to complete.

Thank you for all the assistance and advice so far But ....


 


The 5 digits making up the password admin do not trigger the join to light blue to enable the password to be confirmed. If 8 digits or more are entered then the join lights blue but of course isn't recognized. Should I include other symbols to admin to allow password confirmation?


Perhaps a red herring but should the wlan indicator be lit, it isn't, on the router?

okay, the admin is the password and username to get into the Dlink from your computer. Once you are logged in to the Dlink router settings screen you will be able to find the router wifi password to use with the iPhone.
