I'm sorry about the issue. Was the kindle working previously with your BT connection?

What is the model of your Internet/wireless modem/router device?

When you go to the Wi-Fi setting on the kindle, do you mean it does not show your wireless network name there?

Thank you. Please try a possible fix below:

1. Disconnect the power cord from your TalkTalk wireless modem for a few minutes, then reconnect.

2. If you have any cover / case on the kindle, please remove it for now. Then press & hold the power on/off button on the kindle for about 45 seconds, then turn it back on.

3. Then go to Wi-Fi setting on the kindle, then see if your wireless network name shows up now, then select it and connect.

Your advice worked up to a point ie talktalk.co.uk was in my settings. However, I could not log in because my password ***** unacceptable and I do not know how I can change it (or which password ***** refers to).

Our talktalk modem is connected via a BT openreach modem, I am not sure if this makes a difference?

Can you offer any further help?
